The four Breton companies came to Amalty, the economic capital of the country, to satisfy their existing interest in Eurasia and in Russia markets. The Agroworld Trade Fair helped them to get interesting relationships with Kazakhs contact. They also met business Kazakhs managers invested in the food-processing sector, as well as representatives of the administration, always very present in the business.

A moving plate approaching 500 million inhabitants!
Kazakhstan counts only 15 million inhabitants, but it’s positioning as a major actor on the economic exchange zone. Indeed, this country is a moving plate between Russia, Eurasia and the West of China. An agreement of free exchange connects the country to Russia and Belarus. Furthermore, the borders are also nearby Kirghizia, Uzbekistan and Turkmanistan. This special situation places the country in the heart of 500 million inhabitants, a zone as big as Europe.

BRETAGNE INTERNATIONAL and its relay’s local network got Breton companies to the event Agroworld, dedicated to the farming sector and breeding. This event was juxtaposed in the Worldfood trade fair, gathering the actors of the food-processing industry, equipment and products of the sector. By their strategic place, our participants benefited from the visitors of both events.

The sectorial approach: a priority in Kazakhstan!
This journey not only consisted in supporting the Breton companies’ products sales. It also allowed them to promote the sectorial approach of BRETAGNE INTERNATIONAL, consisting in proposing in the emerging countries a development of their production and the processing of farm products. The dairy and breeding sectors would be a priority of action in Kazakhstan.

The contacts taken with the actors of the sector and the political and administrative authorities confirm the relevance of such an approach. Already, BRETAGNE INTERNATIONAL intends to organize a forum Brittany / Kazakhstan on the dairy sector. This forum could be held at the beginning of April, on the agricultural show Agritech, in Astana, the administrative capital of the country.
