Next launch attempt on november 4th?

Anne Quéméré’s latest news

Patience and determination are needed.

The weather opening projected for October 28th is fine but only on a short term basis, so claims our router, Jean-François Bonnin. If I were to set out now, I’d be involved in a complex low pressure system for the following 5 days, accompanied by 20 knot winds. That means considerable hard work for limited progress, right from the start.  Nothing that had been hoped for... and after discussing with Jean-Francois it was considered useless even dangerous to set out in such difficult conditions, ever so close to the departure line.

The best forecast, although quite some time away, appears to be on November 4th.  This would allow for a good cast off astern of a cold front. It’s also Election Day.  Maybe, it’s a good sign?  Will a fresh wind blow on America?
In the meantime, I’m not sulking on the wharf! Yesterday, I was on board the Sympatico, a super classical yacht, owned by Tom McGowan as we spent the day tacking in San Francisco Bay taking our chances with a few rock n’roll gybes!

To be followed in the next episode...We’re all anxious but we’ll just think about the Tortoise and the Hare...
